What’s in Your Cup?
December 26, 2021
Pastor Bill LeMaster
1. Your cup should be filled with the fruit of the Spirit.
Love - Unselfish concern for others.
Joy - Gladness that is completely independent of the good or bad things that happen.
Peace - The presence of tranquility even while in a place of chaos.
Patience - not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting.
Kindness - Being friendly, generous, and considerate.
Goodness - Goodness in you that desires to see goodness in others.
Faithfulness - Truly devoted to others and to Christ.
Gentleness - Forgives others, corrects with kindness, and lives in tranquility.
Self-Control - Releasing our grip on fleshly desires and giving control to the Holy Spirit.
2. Jesus was the fruit of the Spirit.
3. This is not your fruit...it is the Holy Spirit’s fruit.
Good fruit comes from good roots.
17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Matthew 7:17-18 (NIV)
Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15:4 (NIV)
