 Dear Evangel Family,

I want you to know what a difference our church is making “around the corner and around the world” through your faithfulness in praying and giving.  In the “around the corner” arena last week, we were able to provide groceries to seventy people in the Montgomery area.  Pastor Devon and some of our volunteers also helped distribute food on Wednesday to the Prattville community.  Our Ground Zero youth group started their in-person meetings, and Evangel Christian Academy successfully launched their 26th academic year. In the “around the world” arena, we continued our monthly support in August to our missionaries and partners, and we added monthly support to SIX new missionary families going to nations such as Ecuador, Indonesia, and Russia.  It is great to be a part of a church making a difference “around the corner and around the world”!

This week we continue our 14 Days of Prayer at 6 a.m. and conclude Saturday at 8:00 a.m. There is still time for you to connect with us in person or online as we call on the Lord.  All the safeguards for in-person gatherings will be in place and we ask that you wear your mask or face shield and abide by the social distancing practices.

My message this Sunday is perhaps one of the most important and timely messages I have preached this year. I will continue our sermon series, Stretched Thin, and address the topic of Feelings. Headlines such as Pandemic has driven Americans to depression and drinking, CDC says are being repeated every day in our news.  The struggle and pain of battling discouragement and depression are real, but the good news is God’s Word has answers for our struggles with mental health.  Please invite someone who is struggling in these areas to join you this Sunday.

Thank you for your faithfulness in giving to the ministries of Evangel. All that was done last week was accomplished through your sacrificial generosity. During this pandemic, many of you are not able to join us in-person, yet your faithfulness in stewardship has remained constant.  Other ways to give are in-person, mail-in, online at evangelchurch.me/give, and by texting “give” to (334) 431-3002

Remember, we will get through this season.

See you this Sunday,
Pastor Mike
