Ice Cream Challenge

Every year we challenge kids to learn a passage of scripture and hide it in their hearts. This year we're challenging our kids to learn Philippians 4:6-9 from the NIV.

Also we're adding a preschool division by asking them to memorize Philippians 4:6-7

​

Your kids will love learning and the best part is that every kid who says the verse will get invited to an ice cream party at California Yogurt Kraze!

rules

  1. Elementary kids must quote Philippians 4:6-9 from the NIV.  The accepted verses can be found below.

  2. Preschool kids must quote Philippians 4:6-7

  3. You must be between 3 years old and fifth grade

  4. You must say the verse in its entirety to Pastor David, Craig Cole or your small group leader for Elementary or Ms. Cassie or Ms. Liz for Preschool on or before October 28.  Video submissions to Pastor David are acceptable for children kindergarten or younger.

  5. The week of October 28 successful participants will receive a postcard inviting them to the party.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

 

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

FAQ

  • Who is eligible?

Any preschool age 3 to 5 who says Philippians 4:6-7 or any elmentary student in Kindergarten to fifth grade who says Philippians 4:6-9 on or before October 28

  • Who does my kid need to say the verse to?

They can say the voice to Pastor David, Craig Cole Ms. Liz, Ms. Cassie or their Small Group Leader.

  • Can my kid do a video submission?

Only kids kindergarten and under may submit an unedited video of them saying it to Pastor David either via Facebook, text, or email.

  • When is the ice cream party?

The ice cream party will be held on Sunday, October 28 at 5pm at California Yogurt Kraze on Vaughn Rd.  You child will receive an invite before the party if they successfully complete the challenge.
