Divine Direction
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
VISION doesn’t always make sense or feel safe.
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem…. 10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered. 11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.” 13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.” Acts 9:1-2 & 10-14 (NIV)
The question isn’t, does it make sense or is it free of risk? The question is, is it God?
VISION is made complete by obedience.
Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul… Acts 9:17
Obedience is Difficult when We Struggle with Trusting God.
Remind Yourself Who God is…
God is good, loving and kind.
He wants the best for us & knows what IS best for us.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. John 10:10 (NIV)
Truths about God Should Stir our Faith to Trust and Obey Him when His Vision for us Seems Scary.
Obedience without trust is only compliance, and trust without obedience isn’t real trust.
VISION returns More than it Costs.
At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. Acts 9:20 (NIV)
For Ananias: One Small Act of Obedience turned into One Giant Leap for the Kingdom of God – The Same will be True for You.
