Spiritual Drift

Our natural state is always to drift
We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. Hebrews 2:1
What feeds our Spiritual Drift:
Focusing on the wrong things
Neglecting your time with God
Focusing on what you can’t control
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
Loving the world more than God
Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 1 John 2:15
Putting your Hope in the wrong things
if you continue in your faith, (If you choose to follow Christ)
established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel… Colossians 1:23
Finding your comfort in the wrong things
but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. James 1:14
Faking it til you make it
The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught. Isaiah 29:13
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. Revelations 2:4-5
